Patient Testimonials

I am a retired firefighter injured in the line of duty. I had multiple injuries that prevented me walking unassisted for a year. One of the injuries involved my back. I saw a back specialist for years and nothing worked. My back would go out bending over or even when brushing my teeth, and I would be grounded for up to 3 days.

About 3 ½ years ago my recommended a chiropractor that he was seeing and I said: “They’re worthless!” Boy was I proven wrong! His name is Dr. Alan Schiffman. He took x-rays, listened to my past history and then explained how he would adjust the areas in my spine that would alleviate the pressure causing my pain. He also incorporated yoga and stretching with my adjustments. I saw him 3 times a week for about 3 years and started to feel like my old self again.

Now 3 ½ years later I’m still seeing him and feeling 80% better, which is amazing. I go twice a week now and I’m a changed person. If you do what he recommends, you will get results. I just turned 66 years old and plan to enjoy my “golden years”pain-free.

Some time ago I started having dizzy spells which escalated until I was dizzy 24 hours a day and unable to sleep more than 2 or 3 hours a night. I went to my doctor and for the next month, I had all kinds of tests, x-rays and CAT scans. The diagnosis was always the same, nothing shows up.

During this period my friend had been advising me to go to his chiropractor. Now, I knew chiropractic care was excellent for bad backs but I really didn’t think it would help my head.

Out of desperation, I made an appointment with Dr. Alan. He listened intently and said the 6 words I’d been hoping to hear: “I think I can help you.”

After the first couple treatments, I was still dizzy but the intensity had diminished. After a few more treatments I was having blocks of time with no symptoms, and then no symptoms at all. As a bonus, I am now getting a complete night’s sleep.

I would recommend Dr. Alan to anyone with any problem, not just a bad back.

I said I never go to a chiropractor… I’ve heard too many negative things about them. One day I was in a lot of pain when I saw Dr. Alan’s advertisement in the newspaper and I decided to see if he could help me.

I went to him for a sciatic problem; I guess 20 years of waitressing took its toll. I also had daily discomfort in my neck and had headaches. Since I’ve been going to Dr. Alan the headaches are almost completely gone and my sciatic pain has not come back. I no longer take medication for headaches.

This past winter I brought my eight-year-old daughter in to see Dr. Alan. She was complaining about her back – she is very athletic and just like all kids gets hurt from time to time. Six months later and I noticed a huge improvement. She was very happy. Thank you Dr. Alan Schiffman!

First off you should know I’ve never gone to another chiropractor so I don’t know if my experience is unique. I was suffering from severe lower back pain for about 30 days when I went to see Dr. Alan. I must admit I was concerned when he offered me an appointment within the hour. I wondered how he was so readily available. It turns out that he makes himself available to anyone that needs his services.

He started me on a 3 day a week schedule that has since been reduced to 2 days per week. There a lot of people out there that think chiropractors are not doctors. My answer to them is simply this:

I feel better, stronger and more flexible than I have in 20 years! I am able to pursue an active career and personal life because I followed his advice. I would advise anyone to give him a call and get the personal care you deserve for your illness.

But be aware he is a believer in care, not technology. He is not computerized, has no staff and his office is no frills. But he offers total care and is always available for a consult. If you’ve had a bad experience with someone who pushed a contract on you, didn’t listen to your need, or treated you like a number then give him a call. You won’t regret it!

I have been a patient of Dr. Alan’s for more than 5 years and can say without hesitation that my quality of life has improved tenfold as a result of the time spent in his office. From correcting an injury after an auto accident to adjusting me throughout a flawless pregnancy and childbirth experience, Dr. Alan has seen me through it all!

I cannot say enough about the incredible efficacy of continuous chiropractic care– through the process of getting well and staying well, my family and I owe our good health to Dr. Alan’s healing hands and personal guidance.

My wife and I have seen several chiropractors over the years, but none compare to Dr. Alan. He takes time to truly understand the factors that might be standing in the way of your health or wellness goals and clearly lays down a path to help you attain those goals. He is able to give adjustments that others were not, and the benefits have been amazing.

Under Dr. Alan’s care, I went from dealing with 3-5 ear infections per year to none at all with regular adjustments. I have been able to eliminate medications from my life, and never felt better. Thank you, Dr. Alan!

Dr. Alan Schiffman has been my primary doctor for three years. Before I found him, my family doctor wanted to put me on permanent disability for “fibromyalgia.” I was on numerous medications with many side effects.

I had been through five other chiropractors in the area over the years without any long-term success. I was miserable and the pain was constant. Some days I just wanted to stay in bed from the pain and exhaustion.

His treatment plan is different from all the other chiropractors. He is totally committed to educating his patients and helping them achieve good health through a multitude of ways.

If you follow his advice, I can guarantee 110% that you WILL FEEL BETTER! I was hard-headed and did not want to listen, but eventually, I came around and followed his suggestions and experience. Of course, he was right. My energy has returned and I am no longer in pain. I also take no medications.

The one bit of advice that was hard for me to understand was that he said I should get an adjustment when I feel good ?????. What I failed to understand initially was that I felt even better after the adjustment. I’ve got it now!

Thank you so much, Dr. Alan, for your care and support. I am so grateful that I found you.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Schiffman’s for about a year and a half now. When I first came to see him, I was a physical wreck. I’d been through the mill a couple of times with bowel resections, brain tumors, lung cancer, and a heart attack. Then to top it off, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and severe rheumatoid/osteoarthritis with degenerative disk disease thrown in.

My life was mere existence. I’d hobble from the bed to the couch and spend my days there feeling tremendous amounts of pain, it was pretty horrible.

My spouse had suggested that I go and see the good Doctor, and I was more than a bit hesitant. I’d always put chiropractors in the category of “witch doctors” and the like. Shortly after having seen him for my first visit, I was struck by his professionalism and courtesy.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve reduced my pain medications to nearly zero. I’m flexible and I’m actually living a life.

He’s always been available for any sort of help I might need, even volunteering to come in at special hours or on weekends should it become necessary. This has not been my experience with any other doctor. If you have a problem and it’s outside their normal office hours you’re out of luck or go to “urgent care” where you’re treated like cattle.

I’ve even been able to progress to the point of mowing my lawn, working around the house, walking the dog, and occasionally biking, I had long since thought that those activities were well in my past.

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the great care that the Doctor has given me and my family.

I have been treated by Dr. Alan for several years. I went to him originally with back and neck problems and COPD. The COPD affected my breathing and he was able to alleviate a good percentage of my breathing problems.

I know I would now have several health problems if I had not been treated by Dr. Alan.
